RECENT DEVELOPMENTS. Gummi Baren (where's my umlaut tag when I need it) and goodbye from Barbara (Haribo macht kinder froh . . .). The scrapbook, and Minneapolis nostalgia. Nostalgia ain't what it used to be. Minneapolis, 1991: ". . . watch me flippin' ripped on the freedom tip . . ."
Border Cantina psy trance happy hour last night - I'll really miss this city, by the way - with Floss and Amy D, and more beer drinkin' and more sad but good goodbyes. Buying an island in Australia daht com.
And the second best thing that happened today - taking some old disposable cameras to Walgreens and discovering some cool photos from the undiscovered country - Burning Man, 2000! . . . flippin' ripped on the freedom tip . .

EMERGENCY DIRECT ACTION
Just saw the news today. Fuck this war. Preemptive war is terrorism, and when the bombing starts, it will finally prove what this government is really all about. History will remember this episode as one of the dying gasps of an arrogant, delusional, self-righteous culture - a culture that hates everything it comes into contact with, and even hates itself. (Thanks Derrick Jensen, for the words).
When the War Starts . . . Don't go to work or school. Turn off the TV, get out of your house, and get in the streets.
Emergency Mass Non-Violent Direct Action & Protest:
In San Francisco, the morning of the next business day at 7:00 a.m., at Market and Main, Embarcadero BART. For a list of direct actions in other cities, click here. If there's no day of/day after direct action planned in your city, check out this resource for ideas on how to plan your own protest or action with your friends.
Shut it down.

Feb. 16 - San Francisco Protest. Princess D in camo and confederate flag burka in Civic Center Plaza, protesting the export of Texas-style justice and Mad Cowboy Disease. A quarter of a million people in the streets of SF. Fuck yeah, we're angry. Fuck yeah, we're powerful.
U.S. Senator Robert Byrd (D-West Virginia) made the following statement on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003. If you haven't already read it, see what he has to say about the coming war on Iraq.
". . . In only the space of two short years this reckless and arrogant Administration has initiated policies which may reap disastrous consequences for years . . ."[2/17/2003]
Protest today in SF. I'm going, unless it rains. If it rains, I'll go to Wal-Mart to stock up on damp rags, duct tape, and "United We Stand" t-shirts on final clearance, and then go home to watch the 15 seconds or so of protest coverage on CNN from the safety of my warm and dry living room, and then wait until the terrorist alert color-code drops to a mild pastel to before leaving my house again.
We are bred with paranoia, and the obsession that the world is a dangerous place (thanks Hovering), and then reinforced in that belief as American Perma-War®© makes it a reality.
Meme interruption. If you're not angry, you're not watching enough CNN.
Meme interruption. Support our troops - by not sending them to Iraq to spill their blood protecting rich people and oil companies.
Meme interruption. Preemptive war is terrorism. Bombing civilians is terrorism.[2/16/2003]
